There is a commercial here in the state of Maine that’s been campaigning for the right of gay couples to be married, and the one that struck me was the preacher and his wife talking about how they support the law to let homosexuals to get married. 

“This law doesn’t take away the religious freedom of anyone, and it also protects churches from lawsuits when they refuse due to religious beliefs to not perform ceremonies.”

The issue here has been about the rights these couples have as two people who are committed to creating a home and family together. It has never had anything to do with religion. And I love how this commercial has explained that for people.

Legend of Korra

I watched the premiere of the show just yesterday and didn’t get a chance to rant about it:  it was a fabulous series like Avatar:  The Last Airbender before it, but the brevity of scene changes and aging were quite disorienting. She just sort of gets thrust into Republic City and starts her pro bending stuff. I feel had they drawn out the time a bit to just let the story sink in and give you a better feel for the time passage, it would have been a better premiere episode, but otherwise, I’m excited to see how a grounded fighter of a fire ball will do with mastering her airbending. I just have to see where the eps are online (if I will find the time for it later). 

Anywho, I completely recommend it, despite the childish language and exaggerated features. It’s still got adult themes. And not dirty ones.
